http://seb.delahaye.net/phoenix/#download is what you are looking for.
This is a request for a Phoenix installer. Is it a dupe?
Component: Downloading → General
Asa, I couldn't find a dupe for this.
I think I saw somewhere (in the readme, or in one of the early docs about
phoenix, I guess) that this was planned, but I can't find it again.
Confirming and changing summary. Original summary was "To have phoenix in a.exe
file rather than a .zip file."

Feel free to WONTFIX if an installer is not planned.

Summary: To have phoenix in a.exe file rather than a .zip file. → Phoenix needs an installer
I know that build size is important for Phoenix, so under Windows at least, what
about the Nullsoft Installer? It's small, free, and would do everything that we
need under Windows (create Add/Remove entry, make folder on drive, make icons on
Start menu).

Bug 185102 is not exactly the same. It is also a request for some information
on the install and config files. what is where installed. For manually deleting
of phoenix

You can just make it an executable ZIP file. Ultimate Zip has "Make EXE file"
available under its "Actions" menu. I tested it on Phoenix 0.5. It installs just
fine.

Summary: Phoenix needs an installer → Mozilla Firebird needs an installer
What about the installer available at http://seb.mozdev.org/firebird/
if the organization is pushing mozilla firebird to end users, this feature is
very attractive.

specifically, i recommended firebird to a friend, and she said it "didn't work."
what actually happened was that she didn't know how to use winzip. in the
interest of reducing the number of factors that complicate the adoption process,
i see this task as very important.

as a short-term solution for windows, could we provide a version of the zipped
file as an .exe, which winzip can do?

Does anyone want to suggest a target milestone for this? I would think that
Firebird 0.8 would be a realistic goal, and provides enough time to fix any
niggling little issues.
I strongly advise that if an installer is indeed implemented that it only be in
parallel with the zipped version. I personally despise installers and am
extremely happy with the current zipped bundle.
Of course there'd be no need to get rid of the zipped builds, some people say
Firebird's advantage over Seamonkey (Mozilla app suite) is the lack of an
installer. However, the app suite has always had the choice of the installer and
the zipped builds. So don't worry about the zip file going away, however, when
Firebird and Thunderbird start using the GRE to share common libraries, you'll
need to use the installer to take advantage of it.
Should this be marked as a dupe of bug 214263? Also, what's wrong with the
installer used in the SeaMonkey builds? Obviously I don't understand its inner
workings, but it seems to me it shouldn't be too impossible to simply modify it
to support Firebird's necessary files and registry settings rather than the suite's.
wellander3, please don't remove people from bugs.

All the other installer bugs were marked as dupes of this. Why should bug
214263 be any different?
simply put, that bug is the tracker assigned to the dev speccing and
implementing the installer. This bug has no real status, and is full of noise
already, so it serves little purpose to try to track development in a bug that's
at 22 comments without any concrete information.
Adjusting summary in anticipation of a possible fix for bug 224989 and to make
finding installer bugs easier. Also taking QA Contact.

Summary: Mozilla Firebird needs an installer → [INSTALLER] Mozilla Firebird needs an installer
This bug was duped against a bug which was aiming for a windows installer. Since
we also support platforms and operating systems other than windows (Linux, OS/2,
Solaris )I'm reopening this bug.

Over to Ben.

While I think about it, morphing old bugs to cover new things is bad. So I've
created a new bug and this bug gets duped against this new bug.
