Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126
On profiles that have large bookmark files (mine is 281,932 bytes), Mozilla 1.2
will thrash the disk for a good 4 to 5 seconds when browser windows (not
mailnews, editor, or address book windows) are closed. Did not happen with the
1.2b build I was using previously, which was 20021016. Deleting bookmark file
seems to fix.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Accumulate or install large bookmarks.html file
2. Open multiple windows
3. Close a window
Actual Results:
Disk thrashes for 4 to 5 seconds. App is unresponsive until conclusion of
thrashing.
Expected Results:
Closed the window without incident.
Profile was created in Mozilla 1.1. Bookmarks file was originally from nav4
profile, was converted with pre-1.0 Mozilla build, was used in a previous
Mozilla 1.0 and 1.1 profile, and was then moved to the new Mozilla 1.1 profile.
Then installed Mozilla 1.2b (build 20021016), which worked without incident.
Then installed Mozilla 1.2 final (build 20021126), which thrashes the disk when
the large bookmark file is in place.
