User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/111.0

Steps to reproduce:

I clicked on the fullscreen button in the video player in the window (Both YouTube and Floatplane).

Actual results:

When I click on it I do not actually get full screen (black pixels on the sides of videos).

Expected results:

When I put the whole window in full screen first (green button) and then fullscreen from the video player it works correctly and extends the video all the way to the edge of the screen.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Cocoa' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Cocoa
Product: Firefox → Core

You can test the proper behavior by flipping the full-screen-api.macos-native-full-screen pref to true in about:config. Bug 1802193 tracks turning this on by default for nightly, so closing as duplicate.
