Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:111.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/111.0

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox installed through Flathub does not have device=dri permission. Due to this, rendering falls back to WebRender (Software).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Insall Firefox from Flathub or Flathub beta
  2. Launch Firefox
  3. Visit about:support
  4. Check Graphics section for Compositing.

Flatseal shows, Firefox does not have Flatpak's device=dri permission enabled. Enabling it activates hardware acceleration.

Actual results:

Firefox renders through WebRender (Software)

Expected results:

Firefox should have access for DRI and use hardware accelerated WebRender.

Okay. This is my fault. I disabled devices=all permission, so Firefox could not access DRI. Closing this bug.
