Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126 I click Edit->Preferences and the preferences dialogue is displayed. I expect that I may click on the "+" symbols in the Category pane and the list will be expanded. However all mouse actions in the Category pane are ignored. Clicking on the "+" or the name has no effect. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run Mozilla. 2. Press Alt-E two times (this displays the Preferences dialogue). 3. Left-click on the "+" symbol inside the small box to the left of the word "Appearance". Actual Results: Nothing. Expected Results: A list of options should be expanded under the word "Appearance".

Have you installed Mozilla in a complete empty directory or over an older build ?

I installed it over an older version. I assumed that the installer was smart enough to distinguish between an upgrade and a fresh installation. I just uninstalled, manually deleted the remaining files, and re-installed. This issue and two others that I filed magically went away. It appears that this is a bug in the installer and not in the browser. I've modified the "component" in this defect report to "installer". Thanks!
Component: Preferences → Installer

you must also rwassign to the default onwer if you change the component because the developer is different :-) but this one is a dupe :-) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 135017 ***
