This RFC was backburnered for a while, and still has several open comments to address. I am hoping to get this into a state where the team can approve it within the next couple weeks. Generally, it seems like there is positive reaction to the proposals and it is just a matter of providing enough pertinent examples.

Up next, according to Matt (via Slack, paraphrased by me):

1. working through refactoring the history feature in an example patch to set an example of usage
2. plan meetings for open discussion centered around the example and the RFC
3. close RFC 2 weeks after the example becomes available (date TBD)
