User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/111.0

Steps to reproduce:

I use firefox on Android tablet 12 inch, it should be more comfortable with desktop site mode.

But the option in menu only works for current tab, not for all tabs, not for default.

Actual results:

But the option in menu only works for current tab, not for all tabs, not for default.

Expected results:

Will firefox on android provide an option to keep all tabs use desktop site mode? Or just like edge, give user an option to choose which one (Mobile or Desktop) as default mode?

This behavior change is a repeated request from Mozilla Connect and has been approved by Product.
An app-wide setting has been approved as well and engineering is working with UX on where to place this setting.

I'm trying to follow the history here, please forgive me if I'm out of place... It looks like this feature was added, and then the defaulting on tablets was causing issues so it was rolled back, including the optional setting? Would it be possible to restore just the setting in site settings and leave it to always default off for all screen sizes but allow users who want it to have it always default on? I really appreciated the feature for the short time it was available.

Because the initial change also removed the ability to request desktop from the home page, now you have to open every page in mobile mode first and then switch to desktop. This is kind of frustrating.

Thank you!

Thanks for the comment, Adam! I'll bring this up with my team and see if we can re-rollout the setting but keep the default disabled.
