Dave and I talked about this back in February. We should reserve the original sponsored and nonsponsored quick suggest scalars for the original adM sponsored and expanded Wikipedia suggestions and stop incrementing them for other newer types of suggestions.
Dave said this in our Slack conversation and I agree:
i agree that we should not increment the existing scalars for nonsponsored or best match. As we try out new features, best not to change the definitions of the established telemetry - eg. we should think in terms of feature-specific telemetry rather than the blanket counters, as you suggested.
Currently the nonsponsored scalars are incremented for weather suggestions, so we should stop doing that.
