User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126 I get a lot of emails that are essentially status messages. These are filtered straight to Trash. Unf I still get the new mail notification, and the "new mail" icon on the task bar (next to the clock) stays on until I select the trash folder. Unsure if useful or not: mail is retrieved via pop3s. FWIW OE does the same thing.... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set up a filter to delete a particular email 2. send an email matching the filter 3. wait for email to be "automatically" retrived Actual Results: Mail is trashed correctly, but notifcation of new mail stays up. Expected Results: No notification of new mail that is automatically deleted.

Actually I think this is a duplicate of bug 91498. Bug 116181 concerns behaviour after a valid notification has been raised, this bug says that there should be no notification at all.
