Please add an experiment flag to the Unified Search feature so that we can turn this feature on only during an experiment in release.

Experiment flag should be "unified_search_enabled"

I think we already have an experiment flag for Unified Search (unified-search) defined here:

Yep, that looks right, thanks for noticing that, Chris! Interesting that it looks like it was a proactive thing, since there seems to be no past experiment that actually used it.

Channing, just to highlight it - note the name of the flag for the sake of planning an experiment for Unified Search - unified-search is how it will appear in Nimbus.

So we have this experiment flag, but the Unified Search feature flag needs to be enabled so the experiment flag will work. That is bug 1826371.
