User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/111.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

I have been using Firefox (rapid) on my Gentoo Wayland system happily for a year now, until a recent emerge world update (which I ran after a month). There were tons of updates. Firefox updated itself as well. Now, when I try to launch the browser, it crashes with the following error:

Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: glxtest: VA-API test failed: missing or old libva-drm library. (t=0.36718) [GFX1-]: glxtest: VA-API test failed: missing or old libva-drm library.

[1] 1674 illegal hardware instruction (core dumped) firefox

I am not sure where to start debugging this problem. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this error? I have to switched to firefox-bin for the time being.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core

Thanks for the report! Can the crash be prevented by starting Firefox with the following command? (bug 1826583)
$ MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 path/to/firefox
