RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1827583

People

Details

Steps to reproduce:

  • connect bluetooh headphones
  • open the youtube page in firefox and play a video
  • toggle on the "desktop site" option from the "..." menu
  • minimize the browser app, the video keeps playing
  • press the Play/Pause button on the headphones

Actual results:

  • the sounds cuts out for about a second but the video keeps playing

Expected results:

  • the video should have paused

Additional details:
The only add-on I had installed at the time was "uBlock Origin".

I tried installing the "Video Background Play Fix" at someone's suggestion, with that I no longer needed to use the "desktop site" toggle, but the Play/Pause button behaves the same.
For the record, I'm sure it's not the headphones. The Play/Pause button still works in the Youtube app.

This used to work only a few weeks ago, I'm not sure if it's a Firefox update or an Android update that might have caused this.
Might be related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1795113

I am seeing the same issue with Firefox Beta Android build 113.0b2 (Build #2015944243), a9baea3c70+
GV: 113.0-20230411180038
AS: 97.4.1

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Play YouTube video with Bluetooth headphones connected
  2. Tap headphones for play/pause

I have add-ons:
Dark reader
Ublock origin
Sponsorblock
Video background play fix
