User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826

This has happened several times. I am viewing a page with a large number of
links, I wonder about the technical details of the site, so I select "View -
Page Info," then [inadvertently] select the "Links" tab, and immediately try to
stop the operation because I know the page has too many hyperlinks for my poor
computer to document. However, I am unable to cancel, escape, or close the
operation -- the browser and computer stay frozen until I hit Ctl-Alt-Del and
"end task." I would like to be able to hit a "STOP" button.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find a page with a large number of hyperlinks; the search results from
Mozilla bug search probably will do the trick.
2. Select "View" and "Page Info" and "Links".
3. Try to close the Page Info window with the X in the corner and by using
"Esc". Try to close the associated Mozilla tab and the entire Mozilla window
using the Xs in the upper right corners.
4. Give up and hit "Ctl-Alt-Del".

Actual Results:
See above -- I have to close Mozilla using the Windows task manager.

Expected Results:
I want Mozilla to allow me to stop processing on the "Page Info - Links" operation.

Bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81657 appears to be related, but
I am not looking for a "Close" button -- I would be perfectly willing to close
the window using the little X box in the corner, but that doesn't work.
Bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91758 definitely is related, but
I think it is different.
Note: When I use Page_Info/Links on a URL with a modest number of links, I have
no problems.
technically this is a known issue. Any document with an extensive dom tree will
take a long time to process. See bug 181764 for a possible solution. With that
patch, I'm pretty sure the close button works while it's processing, though I
never actually tried it.
