User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021128 Debian/1.2-1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021128 Debian/1.2-1 Yes I know, Internet Keywords are supposed to be something different than Search results. But if you change your "Default search engine" in Edit/Preferences it's completely unintutively that entering some words and hitting enter gives you search results from Netscape. After some searching about where this annoying "feature" comes from I found a description of keyword.URL which does what I expected. I was very disappointed that the quite exhaustive Preferences dialog doesn't offer me to set keyword.URL. It shouldn't be a big problem to add below the "Enable Internet Keywords" checkbox line a choice that allows you to specify which location you want to use (similar to the "Default search engine" setting). TIA Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
You are telling it yourself: keywords are not search engines. If I set my default search engine to dictionary.com, I don't think I can use it as a keywords server. So automatically switching the keywords URL is certainly not a solution. Can you give a concrete example?

Since IK and Search will not be merged in the near future, this is WONTFIX. It has taken a while, but I've cleaned up the bugs related to the various issues mentioned here. Since you have suggested a specific behavior to keep Search and IK in synch, I'm not going to dupe this bug (since, in the future, if were were to make a simpler product that combined or integrated the behavior, this suggestion would be the best way to make it work). There is still no pref UI for setting the keyword server (you can use about:config). Nobody for Mozilla has complained enough to file a bug wanting this to be pref UI configurable, although it seems that there is growing interest in FireFox for this. If you concur, please mark verified.
