Details
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1353035 +++
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.133 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a web application, i.e. a web-based password manager, in which the credentials form with autocomplete set to OFF on both username and password fields.
- Notice that the username and password fields are pre-filled, with a yellow background.
- Fill the other fields (i.e. SSH public key, URL etc.)
- Submit the form
- Username and password will be saved, even if we don't want to.
This happens both with a new record creation and editing an existing record with blank credentials.
I think that Firefox should respect developer's choice to use autocomplete=off and/or give the possibility to choose to disable in the settings this feature.
