If an update has been recently published, I need to do "Help→About" twice to find it.

Nightly 114.0a1. The problem may have started earlier.
When I click on "Help→About Nightly", a pop-up comes up, usually with a line saying "Checking for updates…" somewhere near the top. Then after a few seconds that line is replaced by "Nightly is up to date", even if a new build has been recently posted, in which case closing and reopening the popup will say instead "Click to update to <version>". Then clicking that button will load the update then propose to restart Nightly in order to install the new version.
IMHO "Checking for updates" ought to find the update if there is one, without the need to close and reopen the About popup.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Application Update' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

The same problem was reported in bug 1774341 on Fx 102 on Windows and Mac. This is the same problem on Linux, which leads me to believe that it occurs on all platforms and has not yet been fixed. Since I cannot change the Version and Tracking flags of that other bug I won't close this one as a duplicate (I would if I could set that other bug to Fx 114, platform All/All, and fx-114:affected).
Apparently I can not even change the Platform to All/All on this bug which I reported (or if I can, I don't find how). If one of you can, please do it.

I even found how to set the relevant flags in bug 1774341 so now I can mark this one as a duplicate without fearing those Fx-xxx:wontfix flags present over there for earlier versions.
