Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/112.0

Steps to reproduce:

On macOS 13.3.1(a) iMac M1

The machine needed a reboot to install a security patch. I told the update dialog to proceed, which downloaded a patch, and reboot the machine. Firefox 112 was running when I did this.

Actual results:

The machine rebooted, various thing I had open reopened, but Firefox did not.

Expected results:

I expected Firefox to reopen at or near to the same time everything else did such as Mail.app, Music.app Books.app, Messages, etc.

This appears to be because the other apps you listed, which successfully reopened after the update, were made by apple and are built into your mac so there is nothing that we can do to fix this as the root of the problem is in how macos works.

I would note that Firefox doesn't even reopen after a normal shutdown and reboot. iTerm2 did.

That said, I didn't test that specific thing, I'll try to remember to the next time they patch.
