Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/112.0

Steps to reproduce:

After a website became nonresponsive, the reload button (Ctrl-R) didn't work.

FF 112.04 64-bit on Windows 10

Actual results:

After a website became nonresponsive, I tried the reload button from the toolbar. It didn't work, also did nothing when used with the shift key.
Should have tried to close the tab, but chose to close the window. That worked and Windows did not report that FF itself had hung.

The action was typing into a search field with the site echoing partial results. When the website hung, the edit field stopped taking input and clicking anywhere did not clear the dropdown/overlay with partial search results.

Expected results:

Reload should have discarded the hung site and reloaded (definitely with forced reload). It should not be that the state of the website affects whether reload works or not, definitely not affect forced reload.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Win32' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Win32
Product: Firefox → Core

If the reload button was physically responsive — that is, it changed colors when you pressed it, even if it didn't do anything afterwards — then this probably isn't a Widget: Win32 bug.

Forwarding to the higher-level DOM: Core & HTML component for (hopefully) more precise rebucketing.

Component: Widget: Win32 → DOM: Core & HTML

What site was it that became nonresponsive?

Severity: -- → S3

Reload not responsive-no reaction, no UI change. Even with Shift Key held down.
