Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla 1.1, Windows NT (sorry, I'm on Linux now - that NT install is history) I imported a long history of Outlook 97/98 e-mails. Now, lots of my Sender names contain the first name of the sender, the reply-to address contains the last name of the sender, and the e-mail address has disappeared as completely as peanuts under an elephant's nose. So, when I hit "reply", it tries to send mail to mailto:Harry and cc's mailto:Jones. Hmmm ... that means that lots of my historical e-mails are virtually useless under Mozilla ... but only half of them :-(. There doesn't seem to be an immediately obvious distinguishing factor between those that work and those that don't. The same thing happens in the To field. An e-mail from myself is shown as being sent (sic) to Barny, cc Rubble, not brubble@bedrock.us. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mozilla into an NT 4 (SP6a) environment with Outlook 98 (might fail with Outlook 97 too). 2. Start up Mozilla. DON"T say you want Mozilla as the default mail application, or it will zorch the MAPI32.DLL file, and import will fail. (Probably qualifies as another bug, but there's an easy work-around. Maybe someone else will report it :-) ). 3. Select Import mail from Outlook. Actual Results: 4. Scan the e-mail sender names carefully. A clue in many cases (but not a dead giveaway) is the sender name is only the first name of the person (Harry, Charlie, Wally, etc). Open an e-mail, and voila! From has only the last name. Select Add to Address Book, and the e-mail address is kindly filled in with the last name. Expected Results: Imported the e-mail address and display name correctly, like it does in some (maybe many) cases. e.g. Bugs Bunny <bugs@whatsupdoc.com>.
