Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020605 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020605 Well... If you open 2 tabs , mark a text, such as linux.com, click the second tab with the middle mouse button (paste under X), that tab will be close and the first tab will go to linux.com website. This is true with more than 2 tabs too, the clicked tab will close and the tab on the left will go to the site you've paste, or return an error if the contents of the clipboard is not a valid site(I know this happens that a middle-mouse-click on the body is a shortcut, have read about this as beeing a bug). And if you do this with the first tab and have others open, the first tab will close and pull the next tab as first tab and go to the site you've paste. This is bad. If this is a "feature"(i don't think so), sorry for all this. BTW, it would be iteresting if you actually could do this middle-mouse-click trick over the tab instead of the page body; You know, sometimes you may consider this feature as a bug if you click the middle button out of the link you actually want to open in a new tab/window. So, disabling this for the body and enabling this for the tabs would be great(as far as middle-mouse over the tabs is featureless by now). :) That's all. Hope this may help with mozilla development. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open 2 tabs, have tabs open with different sites(take note of wich site is on each tab) 2.Mark some text, a valid url, such as linux.org 3.Middle click on the second tab, you'll see one tab disappearing(the second one) 4.Click "Back" and you'll see the first site you've loaded on the first tab! Expected Results: I expect the tab will accept the paste without closing the tab.
As a workaround: close mozilla, then add this to your user.js user_pref("middlemouse.contentLoadURL", false); *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 107147 ***
