When netscape 7.0 is running, if win2000 crashes or powered off immediatelly, at
first run after reboot netscape could not find its preferences. We have 1500
laptop around the campus using netscape 7 and I am getting the same problem 7-8
times a day from the users. I am observing almost every day that after crash
pref.js has became unreadble
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.run netscape mail with a profile
2.chash the PC or power-off it
3.after reboot, rerun the netscape mail
Actual Results:
you will get an error consernig profile error. The netscape will try to create a
new profile
Expected Results:
Why does the pref.js changes to another file formats ar become unreadable. It
should be better managed

Reporter, this is a duplicate, but it's an especially interesting one.
Are these profiles all on network drives? Or NFS mounts?

this is not the place to report Netscape bugs, those bugs are just invalid if we
don't know a bug for duping like in this case.
This is a dupe of bug 170539, bug 193638 is about a corrupt (not deleted as in
this case) prefs.js with a error dialog on startup.
