Steps to reproduce:

When Thunderbird has been running continuously for several days, it will stop retrieving messages silently. No popup or error message. Even if the Get new messages button is clicked. The only way to get it to start downloading messages again is to restart the whole program.

This happens whether there's an update or not.

Actual results:

No new messages are downloaded until the whole program restarts.

Expected results:

Thunderbird should continue to download messages without needing a restart.
