Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

When having opened an Acrobat PDF document (with Acrobat 5.05) which I received
as mail attachment, the character decoding for german umlauts fails when
displaying textual mails: instead of an "ü" "ü" is displayed.
This problem appears only in the message display window (bottom right); german
umlauts contained in the mail list display (top rigth window) are displayed
correctly!
This problem exists at least since Netscape 6.1 and can be reproduced with all
versions up to Netscape V7.0 and Mozilla 1.2.1
The original character coding selected in Mozilla is "Western (ISO-8859-1)".
After closing the mailer and opening it again the problem is gone away (until
the next PDF will be opened).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive an email with a PDF attachment
2 [review]. Open the PDF by double clicking on the attachment
3 [review]. Open another email containing german umlauts in the mail body

Actual Results:
German Umlauts are displayed as garbage, e.g. "ü"

Expected Results:
Correctly display the umlauts, in the example an "ü"
