Steps to reproduce:
Create a specific heading configuration and apply.
Actual results:
Come back days later to the same folder and headings are reset to defaults.
Expected results:
Heading should have remained as set by the user.

Thanks for posting this issue. Did it start with version 114? Or was it already happening last year?

I would bet that I've seen this happen before Supernova, although it wouldn't reset to default columns, but some other weird order like all small columns first. Not easy to nail.

This issue was not resolved and should be re-opened.. New experience has shown that the column headers revert to the default after compacting an e-mail account. Still not sure if it also happens after a software update.
Thunderbird version: 122.0b2 (64-bit)
Steps to reproduce:
Create a specific heading configuration at the top folder level in the message reader pane.
Apply
Return and apply columns to this folder and children
Return and apply the current view to this folder and children
Columns are set as specified
Compact the e-mail account
Actual results:
Come back to the same folder after compacting the e-mail account and the headings are reset to defaults.
Expected results:
Headings should remain as set by the user.
