The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Panning and Zooming' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

By scrolls slowly, do you mean the smooth scroll is visually slow, or the scroll distance is shorter?
I just realized there is a short jump of the words to the right, in the first milliseconds of holding down the mousebutton. It is related to the "<" arrow on the left side appearing. As soon as the "<" arrow appears, it appears to be resetting the view instead of only making the view jump to the right.

AFAIK this doesn't have any performance impact, but rather could be an issue with scroll distance.

I'm a bit confused about how there could be a problem with the scroll distance: out of the 11 items in that menu, 10 are in view ("About" being the 10th one), and the only additional one is the search (magnifying glass) icon, so there isn't much room to scroll to begin with.
Is the issue that a single click on the arrow is not enough to bring the search icon into view? (It is for me.)
