User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0
Steps to reproduce:
I attempted to login to https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=znck.grammarly per its instructions. This invoked the default browser, Firefox.
Actual results:
An Open button was presented in the consequent webpage, which I clicked. All that this did in Firefox was open about:blank. Copying the previous URI into Chrome “Version 115.0.5790.3 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)” and clicking Open correctly invoked code-insiders.
Expected results:
The same should have occurred in Firefox.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Networking' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello
Thank you for filing the report.
Can you please provide http logs for the problematic scenario.
You can email the logs to necko@mozilla.com if you are concerned about saving sensitive personal information in the tool.

https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/networking/http/logging.html
Adjust the list of modules that you want to log: this list has the exact same format as the MOZ_LOG environment variable (see below). Generally the default list is OK, unless a Mozilla developer has told you to modify it.
- For cookie issues, use presets
Cookies- For WebSocket issues, use presets
WebSockets- For HTTP/3 or QUIC issues, use presets
HTTP/3- For other networking issues, use presets

So that you don't have to trawl through mountains of data, what logs should I choose? All of them to be safe?

I have attempted to reproduce your issue on a Ubuntu 22, but I got stuck or I don't completely understand the steps.
Would you answer some questions in an attempt to investigate it?
- Loading the provided link and logging into the VisualStudio Marketplace does not cause a default browser to ask for confirmation regarding the URL handler. What exact steps are you performing in order for the browser to open up?
- Do you have any addons that might influence how URL handlers work?
- Does this issue still occur in safe mode? (https://www.wikihow.com/Start-Firefox-in-Safe-Mode)
- I am also requesting information for Sunil Mayya's answer in comment 5.
Thank you for your contribution!

Seems to work on a new Fedora installation using FF 126.0, so the installation was probably broken.
