I'm not sure offhand if we need to change anything here; filed a bug just in case.
Tiaan, could you take a look through the issue[1] and particularly the discussion[2] and see if we need to make any changes?
(Note also that the issue was reopened with some concerns in response to https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/7876#issuecomment-1486837088 , but it's not clear to me that the resolution is going to be changed/reverted.)

I agree that the resolution was a bit hasty, but the rest of the discussion seems fair. We have nothing implemented around relative colors yet, so nothing needs to change for us.
I will keep track of the discussion.
