User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Minor display bug -- the body isn't redrawn in some somwhat unlikely circumstances. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open mailnews 2. Move the splitter so that the prevew window is fairly small 3. Click the twisty to the left of the header line. (View all headers.) 4. Click the twisty again. (Don't view headers.) Actual Results: The headers which were just hidden are still visible, and the text is not. Expected Results: Redrawn the message body I'm using the default theme, and though I'm using XP, it's theming is disabled. This happens only with the preview page, not with a message display, even if the window is approprately small. Strangely, I can't seem to get HTML mail to display (I don't really care, and that's not what this bug is about), so I havn't tested with it. Workarounds: 1) Don't do that -- if the window is that small, viewing the headers isn't useful anyway. 2) Select the text. (Though it isn't visable, it selects just fine.) 3) Move to a different message, then back. I'll post an image in a minute.

Happens for me in Win98.

This isn't a dupe of bug 106678/56825. 106678/56825 is about a proposed feature enhancement to be able to scroll the headers. This doesn't request a feature enhancement, it only requests that the existing behavor be made to work correctly (such as it is), IE redraw the message body when it becomes visable again. Please, look at the sample screenshot on this bug, and all will be made clear. (BTW, the sample screenshot is after selecting the invisable text; it makes it more clear what's actualy going on.)

Sorry. Duped based on a truncated version of the summary. I do see the behavior you describe, using build 2002120504 win32. Confirming.

Ever confirmed: true
I see this problem too, running milestone 1.2.1 win32 on Windows XP. Only happens if the expanded headers are larger than the current message pane. The message pane will resize itself to accommodate the headers, but when the headers are collapsed again the message pane only goes back to its original size. The headers are still displayed, without the expected redraw of the message body.

Still present in 1.3b on WinXP. Suggested summary revision: adding words "To:" and "CC:" would make it easier to find this bug.
