User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

The drop down menus (under 'Home Channel Services....') on
http://www.ntlworld.com/ don't work. When you hover with the mouse over the key
word a drop down menu should appear giving a list of options. It appears that
the Java is using the document.all and document.layers functions. These menus
work as the user would expect under IE6, Opera 6.05 has different problems with
them (background is not opaque).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to URL http://www.ntlworld.com
2. Hover the mouse over one of the keywords on the purple horizontal bar
(immediately under the title).
3. Drop down menu should appear, it does not.

Actual Results:
Not drop down menu shown. (And hence no way to reach the pages referenced on
the menus).

Expected Results:
The drop down menu should appear, offering the user the options to jump to
different pages.

The lack of menu means that some pages on the NTL world site are unreachable
because the only links to them are on the menus that don't appear.
Site does sniff for "etscape" in UA, so would spot NS6/7 but then does nothing
with this detection as far as I can see.

I originally reported the bug some time ago. Since then I've installed Mozilla
1.5, Firebird 0.7 and JRE 1.4.2. Last time I tried this on Mozilla without JRE
1.4.2, I do not think it worked. With JRE 1.4.2, in both Mozilla and Firebird
the drop down menus appear. The problem is now that moving the mouse off the
drop down menus often does not cause the menus to disappear. It sometimes
disappears and sometimes does not. I do not know if the JRE 1..4.2 thing is a
red herring.

Well it looks like site had been modified. It works for me, using a nearly 2
hours old aviary firefox build (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7)
Gecko/20040730 Firefox/0.9.1+)

-> fixed ?!

I would agree, fixed, but please now see bugs 249242 and 249244.
