Steps to reproduce:
js packaged in many Linux distributions as mozjs is used in may other project.
IMO it would be good to move js/ content to separate project to maintain it independently allowing easier build firefox and other projects which are using js.

This is certainly something we've waffled on. It will not happen in the short term, and I will close this bug as WONTFIX, not because it isn't a good idea, but because this isn't really going to be something we'd track in our bug tracker. There'd be a whole list of infrastructural and cultural things to be addressed before this would even be feasible, and discussion about this will have to happen over a long period of time with many stakeholders.
