User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0 This is a Windows 2000 system running in Active Directory. The user is a power user on the system. When the user starts Mozilla it wants to create a new profile everytime. I have tried uninstalling, cleaning the registery and reinstalling the browser . I have also given the user admin right and reinstalled the program using the users account. Her account will not display or remember the profile. The files for the profile are there but the profile manager does not see them. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install mozilla 1.2.1 as admin on the system 2.Log on as the user create a profile using the profile manager. 3.close the browser and reopen it. Create the profile again. Actual Results: The profile manager does not remember the profile. It is still broken I have no clue what to do here.

Darwin, Can you download and try this with a more recent build? Lots of changes since 8/23. Thanks

This problem is also coming up on the new RH Linux 1.4 final build. If a profile other than 'default' is created in a directory other than the default .mozilla directory, the profile managerr does not remember the fact and wants to create a new profile every time Mozilla launched. This is a very annoying bug, although it can be worked around.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Also happens in Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050913 SeaMonkey/1.0a Not only that, new profiles are not created and there is no profiles.ini file written if one is supposed to be written like in Firefox.

Forgot. The OS should be ALL since this is reported against Win 2k and I found it in Linux.

Got an email asking that I post how I resolved this. It has been almost two years, so I may not be remembering this correctly, but I think I renamed my profile directory and started with a fresh installation. Then I copied my bookmarks and stuff back to the new directory. Or, I may have deleted one or more of the rdf or mfasl files, but I am not really sure of the extents anymore. Sorry I can't be of further help.
