User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 I'd like to preserve some newsgroup threads permanently offline, but I can't add a folder to save them to under a news account. I just discovered that I can move posts to an email folder, but this is a clumsy workaround and I don't know what the implications might be in doing so. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right-click on a news server account, no "New Folder..." option. 2. Go to Message menu. No "Preserve Permanently" option.

Richard, are you aware of our Offline feature? File | Offline | Download/Sync Now. Click on 'Newsgroup messages', then click the 'Select' button and choose which newsgroups you'd like to save offline. Or are you referring to an export setting?

It would be nice to store the body of the news group message locally as an option pre newsgroup server wether I am off line or not.
if you pick a newsgroup as selected for offline (properties | offline | select this group for offline use, we will store messages you read permanently for offline use.
