RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 28586

(Reporter: necros, Assigned: asa)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.78 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.2.19 i686)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1) - all versions

When the connection is slow, or remote server isn't answering, Mozilla can make
you mad by displaying an alert of "The connection was refused when attempting to
contact %s" tons of times.

You have to be a marine with steel nerves to click OK one time over another.

Is there any workaround to switch it off? In future versions, it will be great
to display such errors in a status line (NOT a dialogue box!).

The string itself sits in appstrings.properties file, but I couldnt find which
part of the engine refers to it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get any Mozilla version
2. Connect to non-working remote httpd server
3. Have a mouse and prepare for clicking

Actual Results:
Irritating alert() dialogue box

Expected Results:
Display failed connections in a status line (or specially opened logging console
window)
