Steps to reproduce:
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS on my new Thinkpad X1 and installed firefox 115.0.2 from snap store. After that I was setting up sync for firefox and finished logging in with my account.
Actual results:
I successfully completed the sync setup but when I try to access my firefox account item from the menu, "Open with..." popups appear for each synced tab with the message:
"No Apps available" "No apps available that can open "...[the synced tab's link]". You can find more applications in Software".
The menu is forcefully closed and it's impossible to open without the same thing repeating.
Expected results:
When I click on my account name in the menu, the "Firefox account" submenu for sync should appear.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Sync' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

That's very odd - what happens when clicking on "normal" links - do you get the same prompt, or only for "synced tabs"? The screenshot is showing what looks like a https://drive.google.com URL - are all the URLs to the same domain, or does this happen for all domains?
I did find a few other links (eg, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1403618, https://askubuntu.com/questions/1463321/ubuntu-22-04-firefox-snap-does-not-save-session, etc) which seems to imply the problem is the snap version, so maybe try installing the official version?

Thanks for your comment Mark.
This only happens when I try to access my firefox account in the menu. I don't actually click on any links but I noticed that the pop ups seems to be related to tabs I have open in another session. Browsing otherwise works perfectly fine as far as I can tell. The synced tabs are all of different domains.
This seems to be an issue with the snap version indeed. When I download the binary from firefox homepage and use that I have no issue. It seems Ubuntu only officially served firefox through snap these days and I'd prefer to use that.

Thanks for getting back to me.
It seems Ubuntu only officially served firefox through snap these days and I'd prefer to use that.
Obviously that is your prerogative, but the simple fact it is broken seems to make a good case to use the package from the people who actually created it :) Regardless, there's nothing Mozilla can do here.
