(Whiteboard: [psm-backlog])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Edit->Settings->Privacy&Security->ViewCertifcates
  2. "Add Security Exception" dialog opens up
  3. Chose "Server" tab
  4. Click "Add Exception"
  5. Enter desired URL
  6. Click Get Certificate
  7. Click View
  8. Certificate view opens up in main browser window

Actual results:

Because the "Add Security Exception" dialog is modal, it is impossible to do anything on that certifcate view page, such as scroll down to the fingerprints, copy-paste them, expand the ellipsis hiding the end of the fingerprint, etc.

It is possible to make the browser window very tall to see at least the beginning of the fingerprint. The other 2 problems (no copy-paste, and ellipsis) remain.

Expected results:

It should be possible to comfortably check the certificate's fingerprint before accepting it.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Security: PSM' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Security: PSM
Product: Firefox → Core

Note that if you visit the page with the error and click "Advanced", you can view the certificate there.

This bit us again today... on a PC accidentally installed in some kind of "Kiosk" mode where you can't make the window taller to use the workaround described.

You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
