Ad-hoc queries that are based on data source and metric definitions could be valuable if, For example, on the metric-hub site, users could click a “copy sample query” button and get something like:

SELECT metric FROM datasource WHERE <your code here> GROUP BY <your code here>

Instead of fancy new website tooling, it could even be helpful to include a short section on the homepage called “Building a query with Metric Hub metrics” or something that could help orient new users who are coming from outside of engineering.
