Worked fine in Phoenix 0.4

Major bug because Phoenix become unusable in Japanese and possibly other languages.
Input of Japanese characters is broken with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT
5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5
Blocks: 180674
Added dependency with bug 180674
This bug doesn't exist in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US;
rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130.

Seems specific to Phoenix
Walter: try with a recent build of Mozilla from the trunk before declaring
phoenix-only.
Bug also does not exist in Mozilla-latest (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT
5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021209), under Windows 2000. I believe it is
Phoenix-specific, aswell.
Pasting Japanese text appears to work just fine (e.g., entering some text into
Notepad, then copying and pasting into Phoenix). This makes me think it is just
a problem with recieving text from the IME, not some kind of problem with
displaying it.
*** Bug 184785 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
When the Windows locale (that should have no consequences on unicode softwares)
set to japanese, it works fine.

I guess there is some non-unicode hidden in Phoenix codebase. With Mozilla 1.2.1
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 the bug
is not present, that must be a Phoenix-specific bug.
Other complains about this bug but with Chinese characters :
