Details

Steps to reproduce:

1-Install an addons (I tried with Quick Folder Move, and "Move messages and yourself")
2- Click on "Manage Extension Shortcuts"
3- Assign Ctrl+Shift+M to those addons to an email
4- Try to use the new shortcut on an email

Actual results:

The builtin Ctrl+Shift+M seems to be triggering, ie, move the email to the last chosen folder.

Expected results:

The addon should have been triggered to give me a choice of which folder to move the email to.

Assigning to Ctrl+Shift+H works (and subsequently using PowerToys on windows 11 to reassign Ctrl+Shift+M to Ctrl+Shift+H for thunderbird, achieves the desired effect).
But, in the process, I also noticed that the interface doesn't let me re-assign a slew of other Thunderbird shortcuts, such as Ctrl+Shift+Q and others, with an error that we can't override Thunderbird shortcuts.

So, the easy solution is to be consistent and prevent the fake reassignment of Ctrl+Shift+M.

The better solution would be to allow overriding default Thunderbird shortcuts. That's the whole point of being able to assign shortcuts ourselves!!!!

There is a limited numbers of letters that are allowed to be used as shortcuts to begin with. So, I vote to allow the override.

Thanks for the ping on this Wayne. This is actually an in the extensions framework. The request is to have shortcuts defined by extensions override those defined by Thunderbird. I'm not sure off hand how Firefox handles this. Quick Folder Move is just an example here.

Correct, Quick folder move is just an example, sorry if this was not clear.
Any support?

John, you cc:ed me to Bug 1845236 which was Closed 8 days ago (onCommand event not firing after keyboard shortcut invoked).
I can't see a clear relationship between the two. Are they related somehow?
Thanks!

I still see this problem on 115.5.2 (64-bit). Bug 1845236 was fixed in 115.5.0. Thanks!
