Steps to reproduce:
Changed from dark to light mode on mac in mac settings. Tried restarting the browser after too.
Actual results:
Firefox is still in dark mode.
Expected results:
Firefox switches to light mode immediately after changing in the systems settings.

Only the "default" Firefox theme will adjust to the OS-setting. Can you confirm that you don't have the dark theme selected?

Ah it was the theme. I'm surprised that the theme would not pass the CSS dark property to web pages. There was also no indication when switching to system in firefox that it may not work due to my theme. Perhaps the theme can report if it supports light/dark for this setting.
