general.autoScroll has a different default on Linux than anywhere else.
In bug 1845757, a user reports that it works OK on Linux, so I thought I'd try and see why it has that different default. It turns out that it was added in 2004 via https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/commit/e1b3204886e0400bbfa8187693449358f0d0ceff, which has no bug number listed.

Given this was almost 20 years ago, it seems likely that things have change such that it could be safely enabled on Linux?
