Zoomed in on a region in the map at
http://virginiadot.org/comtravel/eoc/eoc-main.asp , and hovering mouse on a
construction or incident marker should make info pop up. Does not work in
Mozilla 1.0.1. Does work in Netscape 4.79 and IE 5.5. Other browsers not tested.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to http://virginiadot.org/comtravel/eoc/eoc-main.asp
2.Click on map to zoom in on a region containing some construction and/or
incident markers.
3.Hover mouse on marker in region map.
4.See if any text about the marker pops up.

Actual Results:  
Nothing.

Expected Results:  
Text box pops up describing what's at the marker.

Couldn't find another way to get details on these construction & incident sites.
This is an important consideration, especially at such times as tonight when
there's freezing rain expected.

John, I will try to get to this as soon as I can but you can help by contacting
VDOT and asking them to provide a similar experience for users of Mozilla and
Netscape 7. They can find the necessary information at
http://devedge.netscape.com/.

I contacted them back in December. Since then there's been cosmetic changes on
the page, (in which they deglected to set the background color, instead just
assuming that everyone has their default background color set to white, but I
digress,) but the problem persists.  In looking at the message in my outbox, I
noticed I had my address spamblocked.  I'll try again with an unmunged return
address and see if there's at least a reply.

Received the following reply:

Dear John,

We are aware that our road conditions map will not appear in Netscape 7 (and
possibly other browsers) and are endeavoring to correct the problem. We
should be releasing a new version of this map that is GIS based and platform
independent in the future.

We regret the inconvenience in the meantime.

Apparently "in the future" is wide open to interpretation. The map is definitely using a different system now, but is now even less usable with Mozilla than before and flat out says: "Site optimized for MS Internet Explorer 6.0"

Took a peek and it seems at least two of the javascript files served for the page (http://198.176.41.14/webcache/alertdata2.js and http://198.176.41.14/webcache/incidents/js/incident_00.js) are being served in unicode or something. When I look at the source the characters in it alternate with zero-bytes.

Looks like they fixed everything now and the new site is at http://www.511va.org/.
