Actual results:
The context menus are the pure horror. They are even worse than on Firefox.
A good software doesnt need all these menus, its a total pain to use, also its not as selective as on Firefox.
Expected results:
Link Context: remove "save link" this is not needed. Singlefile on Firefox is more useful and Thunderbird is not a browser
Message View Context:
- show in topic tree: this is so useless. It can be done by clicking on the arrow of the messages tree. Also this view is not helpful at all, please integrate "Conversations" instead, with direct reply
- answer to... declutter by moving the extra elements to a submenu. OR it should be detected if there is actually a list or CC and not just always be there. maybe not in the reader view
- forward: remove the simple "forward" button if there are the 2 options
- umleiten (dont know translation): dont know if this is useful at all, dont see its relevance instead of forwarding. maybe not in the reader view
- keywords: this should not be there, it belongs to the message list view
- mark, archive, move to, copy to: the same
Message list (when clicking on a messages description):
- new window: should be optional
- show in topic tree: not necessary, if there is one it is always shown first
- edit as new: should not belong here but in the reader view
- please compress the rest, move to submenus
This goes on and on. Users should be able to chose the context menu in Firefox too, maybe you or the Firefox devs start with that.
Its nice to have the customizability, but currently its "every feature everywhere" not not "annoy peoples workflow". But having a cluttered app is horrible. Apple is the perfect example, many people prefer minimalism. I dont like this as it lacks everything I want from a browser or Mail program, thats why there must be a check-list of context menu entries, directly going to the userchrome, as the userchrome is not editable or documented at all.
