Edit Article Metadata is not available under Editing Tools for archived articles. To open the Editing Description page to un-archive an article, you have to add /edit/metadata to the end of the article's URL.
Test page for SUMO archived article:

By the way, when I updated https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/edit-knowledge-base-article for the "Edit Article Metadata" changes, I added a note on how to un-archive an article under the Edit Description (reviewers only) section. When/if this bug is fixed, that note should be removed. edited or removed.

For the record, reviewers were able to edit the Description to un-archive an article before the August 2023 change, by using the instructions shown in the video posted here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/edit-knowledge-base-article/discuss/8123 (click Show History under Editing Tools, click the Revision date and click Edit article based on this revision. You can then access the Edit Description section of the article.)

I'm not sure if this behavior is intended, so I'll leave it to the dev to clarify. But the easiest workaround to access the Edit article metadata page for now is to simply add "/edit/metadata" to the article URL.

Looks like a fix is coming. See: https://github.com/mozilla/kitsune/pull/5760
The note about this bug in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/edit-knowledge-base-article will need to be removed when that happens.

Archived articles now include an Edit Article Metadata link under Editing Tools. I removed the KB article note.
