Page holder feature would work liek the Search tab in the sidebar. It lets you
put a page with many links in the sidebar and any link you click opens in the
same active window.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

squonk, Mozilla's own developers probably won't develop something like this, but
a third-party (or even you) could develop something like this. Have a look
through the Sidebar directory, in case someone's already made something that
satisfies your needs.

Meanwhile, confirming as an RFE.

Summary: should have "Page Holder" function in sidebar like Internet Explorer for Mac → Implement Sidebar tab similar to "Page Holder" function in Mac IE 5
I like this idea, also (I only use IE 5 Mac once in a while--or even IE, for
that matter!) and was going to submit this as a bug, also, but searched first
and found this. :) I've been off and on trying to learn XUL; maybe I could try
making one for myself ... or try searching at Mozdev or somewhere to see if
someone's already working on one. (I don't know if this will require XUL or
not.) It would be nice to be included in Mozilla itself and sounds like it
wouldn't be too hard to make a sidebar tab for ... but I don't think it'll
happen soon. If nothing else, I could just add Google to my sidebar (which I
*could* do), since that's frequently what I wish I had this feature for. (And
the Search tab doesn't quite cut it...)
Recently nightly builds of Mozilla Firebird has the Page Holder thing.
