User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/116.0

Steps to reproduce:

I reported a bug using the error reporter automatically invoked by Thunderbird.

Actual results:

I don't know where my report went. I'd like to see, via my web browser, some kind of confirmation that my report was actually provided to the developers in a fashion that I can follow-up on.

Expected results:

As https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/gnome-abrt/gnome-abrt/ does, when the report has been uploaded, the reporter should ask the user whether they want to view the resultant report.

You would have seen what is described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb. It describes going to Help > Troubleshoot info will list your crash IDs.

Do you have any recent crash IDs?

That seems incongruous.

If you do not have a submitted nor pending folder then I do not see how you have used the Mozilla Crash Reporter described at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1851335#c5

vseerror@fastmail.com, it could have been on another device or installation.

Component: Untriaged → General
OS: Unspecified → Linux
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1851335#c5

vseerror@fastmail.com, I fail to understand why this matters, ultimately. I definitely saw https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb#w_when-thunderbird-crashes (for this is what this request refers to) if that's your concern.

It matters because without knowing WHICH crashes you reported there's no way to give your advice nor fix them.
Did you include your email address on all of them?

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1851335#c8

vseerror@fastmail.com, the crashes I reported aren't in the scope of this issue. Discussion of them would be the purview of another issue, dedicated to the relevant crash. This issue is for a feature request.

Regardless, I thank you for being so assistive. Indeed, I expect that I included my e-mail address in all. However, if the e-mail address is not dynamically associated with my accounts.firefox.com account's (that is, if the e-mail address corresponding to them does not update when it does) associating them with me may be difficult. The e-mail address attached certainly shall not correspond to the one associated with my bugzilla.mozilla.org account.

Thunderbird uses the toolkit's crash reporter

Type: defect → enhancement
Keywords: crash
Whiteboard: [closeme 2024-04-10]
Component: General → Crash Reporting
Product: Thunderbird → Toolkit
Version: Thunderbird 118 → unspecified

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1851335#c10

vseerror@fastmail.com, GTK3's? I would have expected that to be https://github.com/abrt/gnome-abrt/blob/24638c34816ad58fe6b8988a777c3439f7fcd70e/README.md#about or its associated projects (as the linked file explains). Do you refer to something else?
