The “Show search terms instead of URL on default search engine results page” checkbox is oddly placed within the Search Bar section, and its state is misleading (checked and disabled at the same time) when the Search Bar is enabled. We propose moving this checkbox into the “Default Search Engine” section, and hiding it when the legacy search bar is enabled.

The issue is verified fixed using the latest Fx122.0a1 and Fx121.0b4 on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04. The “Show search terms instead of URL on default search engine results page” checkbox is now displayed under the Default Search Engine section.
