The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I'm not able to reproduce your issue in Firefox Dev Edition 118.0b9 on Ubuntu 22.04.
Are you still able to reproduce it in this latest version or using a new profile? Can you also try to reproduce this in Troubleshoot Mode?
If the issue persists either way, please go to about:support, click "Copy text to clipboard", paste it into a file, save it, and attach the file here.
I have the same issue in Troubleshoot Mode. It is a new installation of Firefox with an import of the previous version profile

Hello,
I could not reproduce the issue on the latest Beta Dev Edition (118.0b9/20230914180032) under Windows 10 x64 and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
Searching via address bar works, Tampermonkey works and can load scripts, no infinite loading tabs.
Also, Comment 3 states that the issue occurs in Troubleshoot mode as well, which disables all extensions. So I’m inclined to say that it’s not an issue caused by extensions and such the current Component and Product are not correct.

As Alex mentioned in comment 4, if you encounter this issue with Troubleshoot mode, then the issue is not extension-specific because Troubleshoot mode disables extensions.
If you can reliably reproduce the issue, can you try to provide the following information:
- The output of the global Browser Console
- A profile captured with profiler.firefox.com, including at least a few seconds where the issue is happening.

(In reply to Rob Wu [:robwu] from comment #5)
As Alex mentioned in comment 4, if you encounter this issue with Troubleshoot mode, then the issue is not extension-specific because Troubleshoot mode disables extensions.
Removing Tampermonkey from the summary then, as it distracts from the real issue.
