User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 The installation instructions for Mac OS talk about StuffIt expander and tar -gz and such. I found 1.3a put a .smi file on my desktop, I opened this and it showed a Mozilla folder with "<- To Install, just copy this folder to your hard disk." Sure enough, that was enough to install. I dragged the folder into my Applications icon, which is probably the wrong thing to do as it gave me a folder in Applications instead of just the mozilla app itself. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Read Mozilla release notes. 2. Go to http://www.mozilla.org/releases/ 3. Click MacOS X Disk Image (18 MB) Actual Results: I got a file on my desktop that didn't match the installation instructions in the release notes. Expected Results: It would be nice if the installation instructions for Mac OS X talked about self-mounting disk images, a recommended place to drag the Mozilla folder, and how to get just the Mozilla app into Applications. I've only been using this Mac and Mac OS X for 20 minutes!
Summary: installation instructions in release notes are wrong (overcomplicated) for Mac OS X → Release Notes (1.0 ~ 1.3a) installation instruction overcomplicated for Mac OS X
