Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

I CAN log in using IE5.0.
Cannot login with Netscape 4.79 either.
World Savings made some changes recently. I used to be able to log in with
Mozilla 1.1 until some sort major change was made in their security about a
month or two ago.

1. First I get a security warning after logging in.
2. Next, a window says I am leaving a secure condition.
3. Then I get the message...
"The page you requested cannot currently be displayed."

#2 above does not occur with IE5.0

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
->PSM, probably Evangelism. I can't reproduce the problem without an account at
the bank.

Robert,

Can you try this using either Mozilla with a Netscape 6.x or 7.x user agent
string ? Will that allow you to use the site? If so then it is a simple browser
detection issue.

As a customer can you contact the site and ask them to support Netscape Gecko
based browsers such as Netscape 7.x as well as any other Netscape Gecko based
browser such as Mozilla ? Mentioning Netscape can be helpful if they are not
aware of Mozilla or other browsers based upon gecko.

Customer contacts are highly effective when dealing with sites which do not
support us.

Feedback from the bank's Web Operations manager - "Dear John Unruh,

Thank you for e-mailing World Savings Re: Web Site Feedback Form.

They should be fine on 7.1. When we QAed the Online Banking system we did run
through some limited tests with 7.0 which had just been released and it worked
fine. We'll be checking 7.01 in the next few weeks. We did have issues with 6.0
and 6.1 and we don't recommend it's use on our site. 4.x also works fine.

Sincerely,

Brian Dana

John, can you ask him that if he must restrict the version, that he restrict
based on the milestone (1.0.x and later) and not on the vendor? There are many
other browsers based upon Gecko than just Netscape 7.0x and that he is
preventing other users of Gecko from using his site by just detecting Netscape.

Please tell him about
http://devedge.netscape.com/viewsource/2002/browser-detection/ and ask him to
contact me directly if he has any questions.

one of the best references/recommendations I've found for encouraging financial institutions to support firefox is located at bankers on-line web site

http://www.bankersonline.com/security/security_browserthreat070204.html

It was written in 2004 during the download.ject attack, but much of it still applies today. This is a good link to send when contacting banks.
