When deleting a message from the message list, the screen reader may read the context before reading the message. The email account and folder will be read out before the next message
I tested this in table view with Windows 11, Thunderbird 1115.2.2, and NVDA 2023.2.
I've been able to duplicate this using the context menu. I have not been able to duplicate this with a the delete key.
I've not tested this with other screen readers. This may be Windows and NVDA specific.
Initial report from Robert Kingett:
1 Is there a way to lessen the verbiage after I delete a message? For example, I have messages set to open in an existing window. When I delete a message, it keeps repeating the focused folder, which is probably what is showing up in the title bar. I'd like focus to just stay in the message list after deletion, I really don't need to know what folder I am in...
2 To clarify, when I am deleting messages with the delete key when viewing messages in my message list, I get that extra verbiage...
3 Yes, even with NVDA and the delete key, it is still having focus/verbocity issues.
